Fulton Village Will Spark Life Again in Downtown Fresno

by Shannon 13. October 2009 17:34

There are plenty of reasons to visit downtown Fresno, and as Fresno's vivacious crowd is finding out, there are plenty of reasons to live in the downtown area.  With a variety of restaurants, entertainment venues and places to work, Downtown Fresno has become the hub for Fresnans of all ages to call home and enjoy the skyline views.

With this in mind, Granville Homes has staked its claim in Downtown Fresno wtih plans to build Fulton Village, a mixed-use apartment project with amenities inspired by local residents.  Fulton Village will be situated in the middle of the Cultural Arts District at the corners of Fulton and Amador and is set for completion in 2011.

Fulton Village will offer the sophisticated living much like what is found in a metropolitan city like San Francisco and blends it with a bit of edgy, artistic flair.  The main freeways are close in proximity and will provide students with a fast and easy track to Fresno State or Fresno City College.  Don't have a car?  No problem, the area is bustling with free transportation via the FAX Trolley service or the eco-friendly Pedi cab service known as Shuttlebugz.

Fulton Village amenities include:

  • A park with doggy stations
  • Granite countertops in all kitchens
  • An open courtyard with common area and BBQ facilities
  • Gated complex
  • Retail and commercial space
  • Swipe card laundry facilities

The official groundbreaking of Fulton Village is scheduled for December 7, 2009.  Stay tuned for more details on this project and don't forget to leave us your feedback.

This housing project is just what downtown Fresno is craving.  The multi-level apartment and mixed use design is edgy.  The roof top common area plaza is a great feature to residents to socialize and take advantage of the City skyline views.

The new urban elevation design fits downtown the best.  The floorplans appear to be designed very functional and the space planning flows well. I believe the 630 sq ft plan should be one bedroom instead of two and allow for move living room space and reduce the kitchen sq footage.  Overall the site looks very well laid out and will be an asset to the Cultural Arts District.

This looks like a great project for down town Fresno.  The commercial spaces add an interesting touch.

I like the two bedroom plan best.  I think it could some more living space but they look like nice units.  If I were to live downtown I would definitely like to have a roommate!

Finally an upscale & safe community in downtown Fresno.  For years I have been investigating lofts and apartments located in downtown but none of them have offered the amenities and recreational opportunities that Fulton Plaza does.  Often I visit my friends in S.F. and I'm continuously envious of their set up;  Underground parking, rooftop patio's, lounges, retail & office opportunities, outdoor BBQ's, etc.... I respect this project and I can't wait to see what happens. Granville please make this a reality and follow through.  It seems like downtown lets us down all too often but your new project sounds like the slow reviving process is beginning.

P.S.  I like the two bedroom 630 sq. ft plan better because I can have a roomieSmile Also I like the urban elevation better because the Spanish elevation doesn't even look "Spanish" but that is just my opion.

Nice to see a that a reputable builder invest on improving a town and not just investing on making profit.
